Question 1      What amenities do you offer at the Cannon Inn?

 

We have a 24-hour monitored emergency alert system, weekly housekeeping, and laundry service.  The dining room offers three meals per day, with special dietary services when requested.  Also available is a private dining room for parties or entertaining guests and family.  Additional amenities offered include an in-house post office, exercise room, ice cream parlor, gift shop, numerous community rooms, TV room, planned activities, and expertly staffed style salon/barbershop.  Our courtesy van can assist in providing transportation to and from appointments.  The Activity Department has use of the van for various events including, attending movies, viewing Christmas lights, etc.

 

 

Question 2      What is unique about the location of the Cannon Inn?

 

Cannon Inn is located in a residential area in north Terre Haute.  It is within the gates of Fort Harrison Villa Subdivision, a private subdivision developed by our parent company, Sunset Harbor, Inc.  It is located behind and directly west of Meadows Manor North, a nursing facility, also owned by Sunset Harbor.  The original idea was for subdivision residents to move into the Cannon Inn when they needed extra assistance and could no longer care for themselves in their own home.  When they could no longer care for themselves at all they would have priority consideration for entry into Meadows Manor North.

 

 

Question 3      What sets your facility apart from similar communities?

 

Our apartments are ground-level with both separate and secured, inside entrances and outside entrances to private patios.  Staff is on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  Daily housekeeping, weekly laundry services and three meals a day are included.  We are locally owned and operated.  Consequently, the Officers and Board of Directors genuinely care about residents and staff since they are fellow community members.  We are proud to be part of the Terre Haute Community and, in turn, want the community to be proud of the services and quality of care we provide. 

 

 

Question 4      Do you have to sign a lease and what is the cost to stay at Cannon Inn?

 

Yes, you have to sign a lease, but it is month to month.  There are no down payment or buy-in charges.  The Cannon Inn is also available for short term stays between a hospital visit and being able to return home.  Informational packets are provided to prospective residents that provide the prices for the different apartment sizes and levels of care, if needed.  However, our price does include daily housekeeping, 3 meals per day 7 days a week, weekly personal and flat laundry service, and transportation to and from doctor’s and dental appointments.

 

 

Question 5      May I bring pets and my own furnishings?

 

Absolutely, it usually makes the tenant feel more comfortable and at home sooner.  There are special rules that pets and their owners must adhere to, but we love animals.  Also, Cannon Inn can provide furnishings if desired by the tenant.
